We arrived on Thursday, 01. Jan. 2015 New York Newark Liberty Airport at 12.44 pm and depart after 3 nights at the Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott Chelsea on Sunday, Jan. 04, at 22.05 pm back to Hamburg where we arrived via Zurich at 14.05 pm..
On New Year's Eve in New York we had deliberately avoided because the Silver Star night in the hotel would have been much more expensive and New Year's Eve is not so important for us.

The ride from the airport to Penn Station in Manhattan (approx 45 min) was very pleasant. If you USERS the Airtrain to the airport at the last stop and then the escalator goes down, you go right into the NJ train to Penn Station.
Our centrally located hotel, had a poorly attached toilet seat, toilet brush was missing and the breakfast was not very rich. There it was clean.
In New York you can find pretty quickly master since the most roads run like a chessboard.
The traffic is not very strong, there are plenty of taxis and tourist buses as a biplane, which allow hopp and off-stops. Pedestrians often go already with red on the light, which is due to partly low traffic and the fact that most of the streets are one-way street.
We were very happy that we had the first two days of great weather, which was particularly important for Top of the Rock and the Staten Iceland Ferry. Unfortunately, the 3rd day was totally rained out and on our departure-day, although no rain, but also very cloudy. Therefore the museum MoMA was very crowded.
We enjoyed the days in New York very much. A city that will not be forgotten so quickly and you will like to come again and again and certainly there is also always something new to discover.
The combined ticket Top of the Rock and MoMa has also been so worth for us, because we were able to save at MoMA a long queue for ticket sales.
We had bought us the guide 100% New York. Especially we were delighted by the 100% Travel App, you could download for free. Since the 12,99 EUR were well spent, because the app gave us very easy orientation in the city. It was the first time that we were traveling with a City App. I can only recommend it.
