In 1999, the old town of Ibiza was declared a World Heritage Site. The Renaissance ramparts consists of 7 ramparts or bastions. Within Dalt Vila you will find the town hall, cathedral, museum, many craft shops, small stores and cozy restaurants.
look also Formentera
The hippy market near Es Canar at the Hotel Club Punta Arabi is the oldest and biggest of Ibiza.
October is not a tourist season in Ibiza. Many hotels have closed and by the end of October some stores stay closed completely. Thus, the atmosphere is certainly different to one that you would experience during the high season. It's fun and exciting to explore this island. If you want to have beautiful views of the sea, you should visit the west side of the island. As a holiday destination we prefer, the port city of Santa Eulalia, as opposed to Sant Anton de Portmany. Next time we would rather split our stay and stop over in Eivissa and Santa Eulalia.
Ibiza is expensive in every respect - flights, accommodation and meals in restaurants. The crossing to the island of Formentera, which takes approx. 30 - 45 minutes, is very, very rewarding. You can explore this very small island in one day.
